Conch Visual Survey 2013

The dataserie is a set of 4 datasets comprising presence and abundance of Spiny Lobster and Queen Conch in Turks and Caicos shallow water. The presence is represented by binary information while abundance in total numbers within one cell.

Lineage The datasets were created using a summary document from Conch Visual Survey conducted by DECR in 2013. The presence and abundance of both species was estimated by interviewing 28 fishermen. Fishermen were asked to estimate a number of conch and lobster catch within 18 km x 18 km cells marked on a map. The final numbers were calculated for every cell by summarizing a feedback from all the fishermen
