Green Turtle tracking data in Coastal Waters of the Turks and Caicos Islands

The dataset comprises turtle tracking data for 16 turtle individuals (locations with 6 hourtime step and tracks) and turtle utilization distributions polygons collected 08.2011-07.2017 in coastal waters of the Turks and Caicos. The data also includes locations from turtles migration beyond the Turks and Caicos territory.

Lineage The tracking data was collected using the GPS telemetry. In-water capture, sampling and release of green turtles in TCI waters was carried out for the period xxxx-xxxx and xxxx-xxxx. From 08.2011 to 05.2017 captured turtles of between sixty and ninety cm CCL were considered for application of satellite transmitters and if selected were released with satellite transmitters attached directly to the highest point of thecarapace at the GPS waypoint of capture. Utilization Distributions were employed using the adehabitatHR package with the resolution of 250m and the Percentage Volume Contours (PVC) were created representing the estimated density of turtles that are likely to occur within each grid cell, from which UDs were extracted.
