Lineage | The raw information used for preparation the datasets was collected during 38 interviews with fishermen, largely with the captains of each boat, in Grand Turk-7, Providenciales-7 and South Caicos-24. The interview included 10 questions: 9 namely verbal questions and one map-based question. For the map-based question the combination of various sources was used, including Landsat TM Images and digital othophotographs. On a base of interviews the database was created in ArcView software. The polygons digitized were from maps and represent raw harvester fishing locations. Additional information about the visitation frequency classification was created by overlapping harvester fishing locations' polygons. In Addition the high-pressure zone analysis was conducted. Similar to the single buffer visitation frequency classifications, these classifications were constructed using the multi-buffer and likelihood value approach to determine areas that receive a high amount of fishing pressure based on cumulative likelihood values. |
