Lineage A sea surface temperature is the temperature of the top milimeter of the ocean's surface. The datasets were derived from MODIS-Aqua Sea Surface Temperature 11μ nighttime product with 4 km resolution. The original data were interpolated using centroid points for every 4 km grid cell and the final grid was created with 100 m resolution using thin plate spline interpolation
