Restricted areas designated in the Turks and Caicos Protection of Historic Wrecks Ordinance

The dataset contains a polygon layer comprising areas designated as restricted in Section 4 of the Protection of Historic Wrecks Ordinance. Vessels lying wrecked on or in the sea bed within these areas are declared to be historic wrecks.

Lineage The layer with restricted areas has been created using information provided in Section 4 of the Protection of Historic Wrecks Ordinance. This regulation defines two restricted areas: 1) the rectangle stretching beetwen Longitude 72°W and Longitude 72°30′W and Latitude 21°N and Latitude 22°N; 2) the circular area which has as its centre the point at 21°48′10″N, 72°23′20″W, and has a radius from such point of 500 yards.
