Beach vending zones in Turks and Caicos

Beach vending zone layer was created as a part of Turks and Caicos Beach Vending Policy. The dataset comprises locations of plots designated for beach vending.

Beach Vending means the activity of selling goods. For the purpose of the policy it refers to the business of selling or causing to be sold or transferred, for cash, goods and services on a beach or beach access. Beach Vending includes: Food (snacks) and drinks, hair braiding, selling souvenirs, mobile vending structures, beach rentals (chairs, umbrellas, floating devices), motorized and nonnotarized water sport vehicles or crafts such as water scooters, water bikes, diving, party boats, (horseback riding on the beach); and another other beach or water sport activity specified by the Turks and Caicos Island Government.

This dataset is restricted to the government departments.

Lineage	Beach vending zones have been created during work conducted in 2020 in the DECR. The primary information was collected during field surveys. These surveys provided coordinates and infomration about the potential vending areas. This information has been digitalized and first draft of vending zones have been prepared. After discussion within the DECR the final draft version of vending plots have been created as a shapefile layer.
