Mooring sites in the Turks and Caicos Islands

The dataset comprises dive boat, snorkel boat and yacht moorings throughout the Turks and Caicos Islands installed and mainataned by the Turks and Caicos Reef Fund in the frame of Dive mooring project.

Lineage The mooring sites are installed under the terms of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Department of Environment and Coastal Resources (DECR). The anchors are installed in different types of the bottom: sand (Helix Anchor), rock (rock pin) or other existing features (e.g. wreck). The coordinates of mooring sites were collected using a GPS receiver in WGS 84 coordinate system.
